So, you’ve designed your dream sign using our neon sign generator or uploaded a logo through our build your own feature — now what? Once your neon arrives, a little care and maintenance goes a long way in keeping it looking brilliant for years.
Here’s a quick guide to the cleaning and maintenance of your ready-made or custom sign.
1. Regular Dusting
Dust can dull your glow over time. Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface once a week. For harder-to-reach areas, a can of compressed air works great to blow away debris.
2. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Never use window cleaner, bleach, or alcohol-based sprays on your neon. A damp cloth with a touch of mild soap is all you need. Harsh products can damage the silicone tubing and backing.
3. Unplug Before Cleaning
Always switch off and unplug your neon sign before cleaning. Even though LED neon signs are low-voltage, it’s best to be safe.
4. Handle with Care
Avoid bending or pulling on the sign, especially when mounting or moving it. The LED flex tubing is durable, but too much pressure can cause damage.
5. Indoor Use Only (Unless Specified)
Unless your sign was specifically built for outdoor use, keep it indoors. Excess moisture or direct sun exposure can shorten its lifespan.
Keep It Glowing
Whether your sign was custom-created via our neon sign generator or build your own tool, simple maintenance helps preserve its vibrant glow and ensures it keeps turning heads for years to come.
